1. Who we are

Border Pet is a travel compliance tool helping pet owners navigate cross-border travel requirements. For privacy enquiries, contact us at: hello@border.pet.

2. What data we collect

We collect limited data automatically when you visit the site:

  • Analytics data – pages visited, time on site, referrer, browser type, and approximate location (country/city level). Collected via Google Analytics. No personally identifiable information is stored.
  • Cookies – we use cookies to support analytics and remember your cookie preferences. You can manage these via the cookie banner on your first visit.

We also collect data when you use the trip planning form:

  • Trip details – origin and destination country, travel date, transport mode, pet breed, age, and weight. Used to generate your compliance checklist.
  • Email address – collected optionally on the results page if you choose to receive your checklist and updates. Not required to use the tool.
  • Marketing consent – whether you opted in to receive updates from Border Pet, and the date consent was recorded.

3. How we use your data

Analytics data is used solely to understand how the site is used and to improve it. Trip form data is used to generate your personalised checklist and to improve the accuracy of our compliance information. If you provide your email address, we use it to send you your checklist and, if you opted in, occasional updates about pet travel rule changes and new guides.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

  • Email address – checklist delivery – processed on the basis of contract / performance of a service: you requested a checklist and we need your email to send it.
  • Email address – marketing updates – processed on the basis of consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any email or by contacting us at hello@border.pet.
